Dr Sally Matheson

Psychiatrist (general adult)

Dr Matheson graduated from the University of Queensland in 1996 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She completed her requirements of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists’ Fellowship in January 2006 in the minimum time, with an advanced training certificate in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Dr Matheson was awarded the Maddison Medallion for the highest scored in Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Fellowship exams for psychiatry in Australia & New Zealand. From 2006-2013 she was employed as a consultant psychiatrist and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in the role of consultation liaison and perinatal psychiatrist. She has been completing independent medical examinations since 2009, and is PIRS accredited and a member of the Office of Industrial Relations Medical Tribunal.

Dr Matheson has particular interest in perinatal psychiatry, psychological illness in the mentally ill, and mood and anxiety disorders.
